Actually, used this registry trick when some of the users wanted to use the Windows Explorer as their FTP viewer. The step below can be placed within a GPO, so all the computers could be hit at the same time or by log in script.

Implementation Steps

1. Enable FTP Folder View
2. Location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\FTP
3. Name: Use Web Based FTP
4. Type: REG_SZ – Change value to “NO”
