I’m a big fan of virtualizing servers because you can take snap shots, create templates out of Operating Systems for easy deployment, and create VLANs. So, I wanted to blog about the process of installing ESX 4.0. This version brings me back, I used it a lot with PowerEdge 1950s, and I was able to cluster the servers for FT [Fault Tolerance]. FT provides continuous availability for applications in the event of server failure; by creating a live mirror instance of a VM. Hopefully, when I have some time I will create a video of this for now here are some screen shots:
