Disable Bing in Windows 10 Start Menu

A year ago, I published a video on the YouTube channel showing you guys how to disable Bing within Windows 10 start menu. Many viewers shared comments that the video was too fast and I should’ve slowed down illustrating how to disable Bing on Windows 10. Video is below for your viewing.

I received a Facebook message about the same issue that I was going to fast, but this person suggested that I create an article on how to disable Bing in Windows 10 start menu. Thank you for the awesome and positive suggestion and here is the article. Enjoy.

Within the the video I did the registry hack on Windows 10 version 1903, but I did a video on my top 6 best registry hacks for Windows 10 and disabling Bing was one of them and it was done on Windows 10 version 2004. I guess the registry hack still works.

Right click on the start menu:

Pick “Run” from the menu:

Inside the run dialog box type in regedit

Click on Okay. You will then get the User Account Control dialog box. Just click on Yes to continue.

Once you click on Yes. The Windows 10 Registry Editor will launch up.

Within the Registry Editor you will need to go into the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Serach

You are going to right-click on the Search node and pick New > DWORD (32-bit) Value from the menu

You are going to rename the new DWORD (32-bit) Value the following BingSearchEnabled

Double click on the BingSearchEnabled key and make sure it’s set to 0

That’s it. Make sure to reboot the machine. If you want to have Bing back into the Start Menu go back to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Serach and delete the BingSearchEnabled key.
