Synology has introduced its new ActiveProtect appliances, a data protection solution designed for centralized management and scalable architecture, offering unmatched ease of use.

ActiveProtect streamlines data protection across an organization by unifying policies, tasks, and appliances into a single management platform. It offers comprehensive coverage for endpoints, servers, hypervisors, storage systems, databases, and Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace services, reducing the need for multiple data protection solutions and minimizing IT blind spots.

ActiveProtect appliances can be deployed quickly, enabling IT teams to create strong data protection plans using global policies through a centralized console. ActiveProtect is designed to be user-friendly, reducing operational workload significantly by implementing immutability and air-gapping and performing recovery procedures.

Flexible Scalability for Any Organization

ActiveProtect appliances can run independently or in a cluster-managed environment. Storage can be tiered with Synology NAS/SAN storage solutions, C2 Object Storage, and other ActiveProtect appliances. Additionally, existing Synology Active Backup for Business setups can be managed from the unified interface, offering optimal deployment flexibility.

Optimized for Speed and Efficiency

ActiveProtect appliances are designed for efficiency, utilizing incremental backups with source-side, global, and cross-site deduplication to guarantee fast backups and replication with minimal bandwidth usage. This system is up to seven times faster at backing up, with a typical deduplication ratio of over 2:1, helping to lower operating costs.
