To prevent end users from manually initiating updates, turn off the “Check for Updates” button in Windows 11. This method can be effective. This guide explains how to use Group Policy to achieve this. By using these steps, you can guarantee that users won’t have access to this functionality.

To start, open the Settings application in Windows 11 by clicking the Start button. Navigate to Windows Update within the settings menu, where you’ll find the “Check for Updates” button. This is the feature that we will be disabling.

The next step involves opening Group Policy Management. From the desktop, click the Start menu and select All Apps. Scroll through the list until you locate Windows Tools, then click on it. Within Windows Tools, open Group Policy Management by double-clicking on it.
