VHDCapture – Unable To Locate Component “VirtDisk.dll”

I was testing out the System Center 2012 – Configuration Manager Component Add-ons and Extensions and trying to installed the P2V tools, but I was getting an ignoring error when I was running it on a Windows Server 2008 machine.

Come to found out that the tools will only work in: Supported operating systems: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2. I created a new virtual machine with Windows 7 and installed the following:

• .NET Framework 4.0
• P2VSetup32.exe
• SCCM 2007/2012 Console only

Once everything was installed I rebooted the machine and went to my bin folder within the Migration tools:

Double clicked on the “VHDCaptureWizard” and it worked!
