I have an authorization code for FCPX that I’m currently running on 10.7.5, purchased a new iMac with yosemite and the app store prompts me to buy it. Is there a way to get just the .dmg file, install it, and unlock it with my authorization code?
dumb advice bro. we need to fix the damn thing not buy it again!
Yes I purchased it from the App store. But its still asking me for the same price I purchased it with. What do I do?
i upgraded my os to os x yosemite. my final cut pro x
is no longer working with a bad sign crossing the icon.
and i went to app store update to see if i can update
the final cut pro x and its not there to update. what
do i do? plz help
if you purchase final cut pro from the app store you should be able to re-install it again. make sure you backup your project files.
Hey I have aa pirated version of final cut pro X and tried your suggestion and got a message saying ”projects and events must be updated to work with this version of final cut pro.” and then if I click either Ignore OR ok the application unexpectedly quits….any ideas on what to do??
and it always sais “Segmentation fault: 11 logout” what is it ?
so i tried it with that terminal thing but everytime the final cut wants to start it goes to logout and then its gone again and that happens everytime.. and my problem was that I have yosemite and my final cut pro is 10.09 so what should I do ?
dude but i downloaded the torrent file or final cut pro from and not from the app store..
and i have like 4-5 projects on final cut pro and the fix in the video shows an error Final cut pro unexpectedly quit.
The torrent should be bandaid to get some people up and running for now. The permanent fix for this FCP issue is to get a legit copy of the software within the App Store.
Thanks ! I don’t mind to pay, I just need to be sure that my projects will be there like the last time I left them. I can’t update officially a pirated version, can you please advise me all the steps to follow to finally access to my movies ? Thank you so much in advance
Your final cut pro projects are normally stored inside the Movie folder on your computer. That’s the default area, but if you moved the project file when you created a new project will need to backup that location. If you are using an FCP version, the new created libraries containers for projects.
So basically if I have a pirated version of FCPX, update to Yosemite, all my projects are unusable and gone forever? There must be a solution, please help !!
Yes there is a way to fix it but you have to update your current pirated version to the latest version that supports Yosemite
can we update final cut in the app store if the version is a pirated version…..??
I think it will break the one you have installed on your machine.
You say “Removing and Reinstalling Final Cut Pro X in OS X Mavericks” Does that mean I should do all this BEFORE upgrading to Yosemite?? Or does it matter? Im assuming most people ran into this issue after upgrading to Yosemite so removing and reinstalling in Yosemite will work? Please help. Don’t want to upgrade yet, just in case. Thank you for putting this out!!!
Great questions. But hard to answer because it’s hard to say if when upgrading to Yosemite breaks final cut because not everyone has the issue. I would say upgrade your final cut to the latest with all the patches the push out Yosemite to your machine. Please make sure you back up your machine and final cut pro project folders.
What if I downloaded it without buying it, is there a fix for that?
How did you purchase it? You have get the dmg file or re-download the file to install it.
